On June 10, 2021, Mr. Brent LaRosa – Cultural Attaché at the US Embassy and Mr. Mike Gower – Associate at the Embassy Press Office visited the Varna University of Management in Dobrich. The purpose of their visit was to get acquainted on the spot with the organizers and facilitators of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs in Dobrich, as well as with some of the ladies – participants in the project. Each of them shared their motivation to apply to the academy, as well as their business idea and the challenges associated with it.
The academy was opened on May 8 and so far the approved participants have passed 7 of the 13 modules, which consistently present the development of the idea of ​​starting a new or existing business. In parallel with the training itself, the ladies are preparing their business plan, which they will present to a committee in November, with 3 of the best projects receiving funding ranging from USD 2,000 to USD 5,000.

During their visit, Mr. Brent LaRosa and Mr. Mike Gower also met with the Rector of VUM – Assoc. Prof. Todor Radev, with whom they discussed opportunities for new joint projects and future cooperation.
