At Varna University of Management, we provide concise and transparent guidelines for the admission process. Our primary criteria for prospective students include strong motivation, good high school diploma grades, and proficient English language skills.
During the admission procedure, Varna University of Management diligently adheres to the regulations and guidelines outlined by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria. By doing so, we ensure that our practices align with the official standards and guidelines set by the government in Bulgaria
The following documents are required to apply to Varna University of Management:
1) Duly completed application form
2) A copy of a high school diploma or a letter confirming the year and term of study, if applied in advance
3) Copy of the appendix to the diploma for completed secondary education or academic reference with the results of the study so far, if you apply in advance
4) Certificate of proficiency in English (if any)
5) Copy of ID card or passport
6) Declaration for personal data
The documents are sent scanned to e-mail admissions@vum.bg.
At Varna University of Management, the training starts twice a year: in September and in February. Upon submission of the above documents, we will inform you about available vacancies in your chosen specialty for the upcoming admission.
In case the submitted documents meet the requirements of VUM, the applicant will be assigned a date and time for an interview. The interview is conducted in English on site at VUM or online (it is mandatory for the applicant to use a webcam during the interview).
At this stage, the applicant takes an English language exam at VUM, if he / she does not have an internationally valid certificate of language proficiency.
Applicants who successfully pass the motivation interview receive a letter of conditional acceptance, a document for the due fees, as well as information about the terms and conditions of payment.

After the confirmation of conditional admission, the applicant should submit to the Admission department the following documents:
1) Duly completed, printed and signed application form
2) Diploma of secondary education (original or notarized copy)
3) Appendix to the diploma for completed secondary education (original or notarized copy)
4) Medical certificate
5) Document for paid tuition fee
6) Passport format photos - 4 pcs.
Documents under p. 2 and 3 acquired at foreign higher educational institutions may need a further procedure of academic recognition depending on the country of issuance. The certified documents must be accompanied by a legalized translation into Bulgarian language. As soon as we receive the documents, we will submit them to the Regional Department of Education in Varna for a Certificate of recognition.

4) Document issued by a competent authority certifying the applicant's right to continue his / her education in the higher schools and universities of the home country or abroad
5) Medical certificate
6) Passport format photos - 4 pcs.
When the documents under items 2, 3, 4 are not issued by Bulgarian bodies and institutions and are not in Bulgarian, they must be legalized, translated into Bulgarian and certified in accordance with the provisions of the international treaties of the Republic of Bulgaria with the country in which they were issued.

The full package of documents has to be sent to the Admission department at: Bulgaria, Varna 9000, 13 A Oborishte Str., Room 101. As soon as we receive the documents, we will submit them to the Regional Department of Education in Varna for a Certificate of recognition and after that to the Ministry of Education of Bulgaria for approval. Both procedures take between 40 and 60 days. The Regional Department of Education will evaluate the documents and if you meet the requirements to study in Bulgaria will issue the Certificate of recognition. The Ministry will issue an approval certificate, which is necessary for obtaining Visa D at the Bulgarian Embassy/Consulate.
