Throughout the admission procedure, Varna University of Management strictly complies with the regulations and requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria. This ensures that all admission practices fully meet national standards and reflect the official framework established by the Bulgarian authorities.
The first step in the application process is to send an email to admissions@vum.bg and provide the following documents:
NB: If the secondary education in the country of the applicant is divided into lower and upper secondary education, both certificates must be provided.
Once you have submitted all the requested documents, our admissions team will review them and you will be contacted for the next stage of the application process – the admission interview. It will be scheduled for the time and date suitable for both parties. The admission interview is obligatory.
After the interview, those who do not possess an internationally recognised English language certificate, must take the online English exam at VUM.
Applicants who successfully pass the previous step will receive a conditional offer of admission, an invoice outlining the applicable fees, and detailed information regarding the payment terms and conditions.

All applicants whose secondary education certificates were not issued by a Bulgarian high school must have their documents submitted to the National Centre for Information and Documentation (NACID) for recognition. In order to be eligible for recognition, the documents must possess the required attestations. More information about the requirements of NACID can be found on their website here.

At Varna University of Management, teaching commences twice a year, in September and February. Upon submission of the required documents, we will inform you of the availability of places in your chosen programme for the upcoming intake. Please note that the admission process for international students may take some time; therefore, we strongly recommend that you apply as early as possible.

When the documents listed under items 2, 3 and 4 are not issued by Bulgarian authorities and are not in Bulgarian, they must be legalised, translated into Bulgarian, and certified in accordance with the provisions of the international treaties of the Republic of Bulgaria with the country in which they were issued.

Upon receipt of the documents, VUM will proceed with their processing. If the documents have not been translated by the applicant and the respective translation fee has been paid, VUM will arrange for the translation.
Once translated, the documents are submitted to the National Centre for Information and Documentation (NACID) for the issuance of a Certificate of Recognition. Following NACID recognition, the documents are then submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria for final approval.
