Admission requirements for Master degree programmes

During the admission procedure, Varna University of Management diligently adheres to the regulations and guidelines outlined by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria. Application steps for EU and EEA citizens

The following documents are required to apply to Varna University of Management:

1) Duly completed Application Forms of Varna University of Management and Cardiff Metropolitan University
2) Copy of higher education diploma or letter confirming the year and semester, if applied in advance
3) Copy of the appendix with the grades to the diploma for higher education or academic reference with the results of the study so far, if you apply in advance
4)Copy of secondary school diploma and transcript with grades
5) Certificate of proficiency in English (if any)
6) 2 letters of recommendation (in English, containing recommendations from lecturers and / or employers, contacts, signature and seal of the recommender)
7) Curriculum vitae in English
8) Cover letter, addressed to both Varna University of Management and Cardiff Metropolitan University
9) Copy of ID card or passport
10) Declaration for personal data

The documents have to be sent scanned to the e-mail admissions@vum.bg

In case the submitted documents meet the requirements of VUM, the applicant will be assigned a date and time for an interview. The interview is conducted in English on site at VUM or online (it is mandatory for the applicant to use a webcam during the interview).

At this stage, the applicant takes an English language exam at VUM, if he / she does not have an internationally valid certificate of language proficiency.

Applicants who successfully pass the motivation interview receive a letter of conditional acceptance, a document for the due fees, as well as information about the terms and conditions of payment.

After the confirmation of conditional admission, the applicant should submit to the Admission Department of the Varna University of Management the following documents:

1) Duly completed, printed and signed application forms for VUM and Cardiff Metropolitan University
2) Diploma of higher education (original or notarized copy)
3) Academic transcript of records from the previous university degree (original or notarized copy)
4) High school diploma with mark sheets (original or notarized copy)
5) Original Health Certificate stating that you are healthy and you can travel
6) Passport format photos - 4 pcs.

Documents under p. 2, 3 and 4 acquired at foreign higher educational institutions may need a further procedure of academic recognition depending on the country of issuance. More information about the recognition of documents and the necessary legalizations and certifications of higher educational documents (for Master applicants) can be found on the website of the National Center for Information and Documentation of the Republic of Bulgaria (NACID).

The documents have to be sent to the Admission Department at: Bulgaria, Varna 9000, 13 A Oborishte Str., Room 101.

Application steps for citizens of non - EU and EEA countries​

The following documents are required to apply to Varna University of Management:

1) Duly completed Application Forms of Varna University of Management and Cardiff Metropolitan University
2) Copy of higher education diploma or letter confirming the year and semester, if applied in advance
3) Copy of the appendix with the grades to the diploma for higher education or academic reference with the results of the study so far, if you apply in advance
4)Copy of secondary school diploma and transcript with grades
5) Certificate of proficiency in English (if any)

When the documents under items 2, 3, 4 are not issued by Bulgarian bodies and institutions and are not in Bulgarian, they must be legalized, translated into Bulgarian and certified in accordance with the provisions of the international treaties of the Republic of Bulgaria with the country in which they were issued. The full package of documents has to be sent to the Admission department at: Bulgaria, Varna 9000, 13 A Oborishte Str., Room 101. As soon as we receive the documents, we will submit them to the Regional Department of Education in Varna for a Certificate of recognition and after that to the Ministry of Education of Bulgaria for approval. Both procedures take between 40 and 60 days. The Regional Department of Education will evaluate the documents and if you meet the requirements to study in Bulgaria will issue the Certificate of recognition. The Ministry will issue an approval certificate, which is necessary for obtaining Visa D at the Bulgarian Embassy/Consulate.
