Varna University of Management (VUM) has maintained its leading positions in the professional fields of Tourism and Administration and Management in the 2026 edition of the Bulgarian University Ranking System, published by the Ministry of Education and Science.
This year, VUM ranks 2nd nationally in Professional Field 3.9 “Tourism” and 4th in Professional Field 3.7 “Administration and Management” among higher education institutions in Bulgaria.
Even more significant is VUM’s performance in research: in Professional Field 3.9 “Tourism”, VUM ranks No. 1 in the country for research activity.
This is recognition not only of the quality of education we provide, but also of the active research work of VUM’s academic community and its contribution to the development of the tourism industry.
Maintaining its 2nd position in Professional Field “Tourism” for another consecutive year confirms VUM’s strong and sustainable position among Bulgaria’s leading higher education institutions in this field.
Students are at the heart of VUM’s educational model. Our programmes combine academic knowledge with practical experience, real-world cases and projects, an international learning environment, professional internships and mobility opportunities.
At the same time, VUM actively develops research addressing current challenges and trends in tourism. Achieving the No. 1 position for research activity in Professional Field “Tourism” is strong evidence of this commitment.
In Professional Field 3.7 “Administration and Management”, VUM ranks 4th nationally. This result reflects the strengths of VUM’s business education, including the development of analytical and strategic thinking, leadership skills, work on real business cases and projects, and learning in an international and intercultural environment.
In both professional fields – Tourism and Administration and Management – VUM ranks No. 1 among higher education institutions in Varna.
Maintaining leading positions in the Bulgarian University Ranking System year after year is a testament to consistency and sustainability.
