On Friday (21.10.2022) a group of International students visited the Archeological museum in Varna. They were impressed to find out that the building was functioning as a Girls’ High School during the 19th century and right now it is one of the largest museums in Bulgaria. The most exciting artefact in the museum was the Gold of Varna, the oldest gold treasure in the world. Nevertheless, the students also learned a lot about the life of people in Varna region through the Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, all the way through to the Ottoman period through all the professionally displayed artefacts and the excellent explanations from the tour guide.
This initiative is implemented in the framework of activity “Explore Varna and present it to the world” part the project “Student Council Initiatives at VUM, supported by the Varna Municipality.”
