Knowledge is not only a bridge between generations – it is also a tradition that will give us a future, said Professor Krasimira Staneva, Rector of Varna University of Management (VUM), during the official opening of the new academic year today. She wished the students to keep their enthusiasm, to remain curious and brave, and to arrange their dreams in such a way that when they achieve them, they can truly enjoy them.
Professor Staneva noted that this academic year, VUM welcomes young people from 13 countries. Over the years, she said, the university has educated students from more than 50 countries around the world.
The philosophy of the university is integration and internationalization, Staneva pointed out, emphasizing that it is no coincidence that VUM ranks number one in certain areas of Erasmus+ mobility programs. “In these times, when everything changes so dynamically and digital transformation sets the rhythm of life, we have realized that innovation in teaching methods comes first,” the Rector added. She said the university welcomes every new initiative related to the application of artificial intelligence—with a strong focus, however, on the natural one. That is why VUM’s efforts are directed toward maintaining and developing human capital, Staneva explained. She stressed that the university’s team focuses on a modern learning process, supported by internationally recognized platforms. According to her, VUM is also expanding its partnership with the Metropolitan University in Budapest.
“The range of our opportunities is constantly expanding, which shows that the quality of education at VUM is highly valued,” Staneva added, concluding that the true mission of smaller universities is to preserve spirituality.
