Today, Varna University of Management (VUM) welcomed an important guest – Professor Eliza Stefanova, Chair of the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency. The visit was a momentous occasion for the entire academic community, as Professor Stefanova officially presented to the President of VUM, Associate Professor Dr. Todor Radev, the new institutional accreditation certificate, which is valid until 2030.

Professor Stefanova congratulated the leadership, faculty, and students of VUM for their hard work and dedication to high academic standards. “This is a great recognition for us and a motivation to continue developing and improving,” shared VUM President. “We are proud of what we have achieved and look to the future with confidence.”

VUM’s achievements in the field of education and research in recent years have led to an increase in the overall accreditation rating, which has risen by nearly 0.4 points, reaching 8.88 out of 10. This growth is not coincidental but is the result of the institution’s commitment to providing high-quality education, supported by a professional academic team and an innovative approach to teaching. This is tangible evidence of VUM’s ranking among the top Bulgarian universities in prestigious national and international rankings.

For nearly a decade, VUM’s master’s programmes have received well-deserved recognition in some of the most prestigious international rankings.

The 2024 edition of the global ranking for the best master’s programmes, Eduniversal Best Masters, places VUM’s Master’s in International Tourism at 12th place worldwide, while the MBA programme once again ranks in the top 5 in Central and Eastern Europe, securing the prestigious 4th position.

VUM’s MBA programme surpasses renowned universities in Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, and Hungary, while the Master’s in International Tourism outshines those offered by leading universities in the UK, France, and Italy. Remarkably, VUM is the only Bulgarian institution included in the Official Selection of the top 1000 institutions and has been awarded 3 Palms of Excellence by this prestigious ranking.

VUM also offers some of the highest quality bachelor’s programmes in Bulgaria, in fields such as International Business and Management, Software Systems and Technologies, Hospitality and Culinary Arts, and more.

In the official ranking of the Ministry of Education and Science, VUM’s academic fields of “Tourism” and “Administration and Management” are ranked second and third respectively among Bulgarian universities.

VUM attracts students from nearly 50 countries. The EU-supported U-Multirank places VUM among the universities with the strongest international orientation, consistently ranking VUM first in the world for international student mobility.
