Students and lecturers from Varna University of Management (VUM) visited TOURISM EXPO DESTINATION VARNA 2026, an event dedicated to current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Over the two days of the exhibition, VUM lecturers took part in professional meetings and discussions with representatives of academia and the tourism industry. They exchanged ideas, shared professional experience, and contributed to conversations focused on identifying solutions for the sustainable development of the tourism sector.

For students from the Hospitality and Culinary Arts and Hotel Management programmes, the visit was part of the ‘Critical Hospitality’ module. The event provided an opportunity to explore current cases and challenges related to the development of Varna as a tourism destination and to see how topics discussed in the classroom are addressed in real-world business practice.

Initiatives of this kind are an important part of education at VUM, strengthening the connection between theory and practice and enabling students to gain deeper insight into the business environment and the evolving tourism industry.
