Today, the third-year students of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Hospitality and Culinary Arts programs organized their traditional educational trip, part of the “Innovations and Creativity in Culinary Arts” module. Our good partner Top Rent-a-Car provided comfortable minibuses, taking the student group to Balchik, where the largest of the three production facilities of ZIV EOOD is located. There, our kind hosts showed the product lines for cookies, waffles, sponge cakes, and salty sticks. The students had a tour around the confectionery factory. They discussed various topics with the employees, including how innovative food products are created, the steps for launching them in the market, and what to do in case of potential failure. Chief Technologist Engineer Georgi Rafailov elaborated on and demonstrated each element of the production lines, as well as specific details related to the creation of new products.
After a short break and tasting the products of ZIV EOOD, the group headed to their next destination, Medena Kyshta Mihovi, a village called Prilep. There, amidst the tranquillity of the Batova Forest, the students enjoyed excellent organic honey products prepared by the Mihovi family farm. In addition to the interesting facts about beekeeping and honey production, the students learned about and tested local traditional delicacies made from bee products.
The entire trip was exceptionally pleasant, thanks to the invaluable support of Top Rent-a-Car, who provided the transportation for this educational journey. The comfortable, brand-new minibuses and the excellent service enhanced the wonderful experience on this sunny November day.
