A delegation from the Ural Federal University in Ekaterinburg, Russia, led by the First Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dmitry Burgov, was on an official visit at Varna University of Management. Members of the delegation were also Dmitrii Loevskii – Deputy of the First Vice-Rector and Head of Social Development Department, Alexei Safronov – Director of the Tourism Educational Programme and Alexandra Dmitrieva – Head of the Tourism and Hospitality Department.
The guests visited VUM campuses in Varna and Dobrich and were impressed not only with the facilities, but also with the methods and quality of the training and the qualification of the faculty and administrative staff.
At the meeting with the Rector of Varna University of Management Assoc. Prof. Todor Radev were discussed the possibilities and the parameters of the cooperation, which was formalized by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities. The main areas of the agreement are academic exchange of students and lecturers, development of joint educational programs, joint scientific forums, publications and projects.
Ural Federal University is one of the largest educational institutions in the Russian Federation, with over 35 000 students coming from 75 countries. The University offers more than 450 educational programs in the field of natural, technical, social and economic sciences, humanities and management.
The initiation of this new collaboration is in line with the VUM strategy to expand its extensive and sophisticated network of more than 200 activeinternational partners from five continents.
