On February 22, Varna University of Management (VUM) had the pleasure of welcoming prospective students and their parents to its traditional Open Day. The event provided an excellent opportunity for future applicants to explore VUM’s academic programs, learn more about the advantages of studying at the university, and receive valuable guidance for their professional development.

The event kicked off with an overview of the key advantages of studying at VUM, presented by Slavena Dimitrova, who introduced guests to the university’s international accreditation, dual-degree opportunities, and global network of partners.
One of the main topics of discussion was career development, led by Veselina Dimitrova. She emphasized that VUM students graduate not only with a degree but also with real professional experience, thanks to integrated internship programs and hands-on projects.
The technological opportunities at VUM were presented by Veselin Zaimov, who explained how the Software Engineering program is tailored to meet the needs of the modern IT industry, equipping students with practical skills through real-world projects.
In the field of business education, Dr. Nina Zlateva highlighted the strengths of VUM’s Business and Management programs, which prepare students for the global business environment through real case studies, strategic thinking, and innovative teaching methods.
The topic of Tourism education was introduced by Assoc. Eng. Irina Petkova, who emphasized VUM’s unique approach, combining academic training with hands-on experience in international hotels and tourism companies.
Chef Hugues Boutin, Director of Culinary Arts Institute, demonstrated how the culinary education at CAI develops highly skilled gastronomy professionals, integrating innovative techniques, practical training, and internships in prestigious restaurants worldwide.

A special guest at the event was Mr. Larss Regenberg from Nordseehotel Freese, one of VUM’s long-standing hospitality industry partners. He provided valuable insights into career development in tourism, hospitality, and culinary arts, presenting opportunities for international internships and career growth in VUM’s partner hotels.
