A delegation from Osmaniye Korkut Ata University in Osmaniye, Turkey, paid a visit to Varna University of Management. The Vice-Rector for International Affairs Prof. Susran Erkan Eroglu and the International Cooperation Teaching Assistant Mr. Goksel Coskun visited the campuses in Varna and Dobrich, got acquainted with the training facilities and held meetings and negotiations with the university management.

The cooperation between the two universities dates from the beginning of December, when an Erasmus+ Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement was signed, and the current visit is a next step in the development of collaboration between the two educational institutions.

On the Varna Campus the guests met with Ms. Vanina Valcheva – Academic Director of VUM, Ms. Maria Polimenova – Director of Marketing and Admission, Prof. Stanimir Andonov – Lecturer in Marketing at VUM and Manager of Neuromarketing Bulgaria and Ms. Yordanka Raykova – Collaborative Programmes Coordinator.

After their visit to Varna, the guests also visited VUM Dobrich campus where they met with VUM President Assoc. Prof. Todor Radev, Head of Erasmus+ Office Ms. Rosita Koleva, as well as with Turkish students currently studying at VUM, who shared their experiences and impressions of the university. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Double Degree Agreement of Cooperation, under which the parties agreed to initiate the development of joint educational programmes.

The successful visit ended with a dinner at the Culinary Arts Institute at Varna University of Management, where guests were very impressed with the professionalism of CAI Chef Instructors and students during the presentation of the exotic menu of Bulgarian-Asian Fusion Dinner. This added another theme for the future development of the partnership between the two universities, namely cooperation in the field of culinary arts training.

Osmaniye Korkut Ata University is a state university in Turkey, founded in 2007. The University currently educates 13,000 students and has about 500 faculty and administrative staff.
