We are happy to tell you about VUM connections with China.

Varna University of Management is a recognized institution in accordance with the Chinese Ministry of Education – Education Regulatory Information Network. You can see VUM listed on their website under No. 13.

Varna University of Management has an agreement Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance. Thanks to this partnership VUM students can take part in mobility programs and thus spend a semester in the Chinese university. On the other side, this partnership allows Chinese students from the partner university to come and study with us. We expect to have a group of Chinese students to join us for the February 2018 semester.

During the last academic year our MBA students made two study trips to China. One of the trips included meeting with expats as guest-lecturers, including Beverly Xu, who has a very successful start-up in Shanghai, and with prof. Michael Harris Bond, Jessica and Robert Lindeman in Hong Kong. The students had the chance to meet also three Bulgarian business people – Milena Paleva, Veronika Kuznetzova and Rumen Yordanov. The other study trip to China was part of an international student collaboration with the Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB), Beijing. The students worked in teams on different topics and the results of their research were presented to the lecturers and students of CUEB. In fact VUM has a history of successful study trips to China that started back in 2011.

We have had students from China already. One of our graduates, Linda Wang, completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree at VUM. Another student, Rudi Yang, was part of our European Summer University in 2016.

In 2014 Varna University of Management organized a course in “Chinese language and culture“. The course included basic Chinese language conversations as well as cultural conduct and ethics during meetings and social events. The course was visited by students and citizens of Dobrich.

An interesting fact is that the city of Varna is a sister city of the Chinese megapolis Ningbo.

Follow this link to watch a short video which was made by a Chinese man who visited Bulgaria. It’s called Hello Bulgaria.
