On February 15th a group of international students at Varna University of Management organized a celebration of the Chinese New Year. According to the Chinese culture, this year will be the Year of the Yellow Dog. This semester there are 4 students from China studying at VUM, who organized the event and introduced the main Chinese traditions for New Year celebrations. There were decorations, video presentations, traditional food, tea and the most interesting – the typical red envelopes with special wishes for the new year.

New Year is one of the most celebrated holidays in China. Usually the celebrations are very big and last for two weeks. Traditionally everything is decorated in red, and the gifts are very often red envelopes with “money for good luck”.

VUM has established connections with China. You can read more about it on this link.
