Volunteering is one of the easiest ways to become more connected to the city you live and study in. Whether you care about children, animals, culture, sports or humanitarian causes, Varna offers many opportunities to contribute your time, skills and energy.
To make it easier for students and young people to find these opportunities, we created a map featuring organisations and initiatives that welcome volunteers.
The Social Teahouse
The Social Teahouse supports children and young people and offers opportunities for volunteers to get involved in workshops, activities and mentoring. Volunteers can share their knowledge and skills, organise activities and spend meaningful time with young people. The organisation is particularly suitable for people looking for a longer-term commitment.
Karin Dom
Karin Dom works with children with special needs and their families. Volunteers can contribute through creative and communication skills, including photography, graphic design, writing and translation. They can also support charity campaigns, events, bazaars and other initiatives.
Bulgarian Red Cross Youth
Bulgarian Red Cross Youth offers young people opportunities to volunteer in areas such as first aid, health promotion, humanitarian education and social support. Volunteers can participate in campaigns, events and educational activities while developing practical and leadership skills.
Municipal Dog Shelter – Varna
Municipal Dog Shelter – Varna provides an opportunity for animal lovers to help dogs waiting for new homes. Volunteers can spend time with the dogs, help socialise them and support adoption and other shelter initiatives.
DobroLek
DobroLek focuses on helping animals in need and developing a shelter and veterinary facility for injured animals. Volunteers can contribute with communication, foreign-language and digital skills, create written, visual and video content, support fundraising activities and participate in events promoting animal welfare and adoption.
Animal Hope Varna
Animal Hope Varna is a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to rescuing, treating and finding homes for animals in need. Volunteers can help with cleaning, feeding, grooming and caring for rescued dogs and cats, as well as with fostering, sharing adoption posts and other forms of support.
I Believe and I Help
I Believe and I Help brings people together around charitable and environmental initiatives. One of its best-known activities is collecting plastic bottle caps and recycling them to raise funds for medical equipment and other causes. Volunteers can help during collection campaigns, charity events, recycling initiatives and other community activities.
‘Pencho Slaveykov’ Public Library
‘Pencho Slaveykov’ Public Library is a good option for students interested in books, culture and community events. Volunteers can support exhibitions, readings, meetings with authors, educational activities and other cultural initiatives.
Sport Varna
Sport Varna offers opportunities for active young people interested in sports and event organisation. Volunteers can support sporting events, tournaments and activities by helping with organisation, logistics, welcoming participants and other event-related tasks.
Find Your Way to Volunteering
Volunteering does not always require professional experience or a large time commitment. Sometimes, a few hours, a useful skill or simply the willingness to help can make a real difference.
Explore the map, discover an organisation that matches your interests and take your first step towards becoming an active part of the Varna community.
This initiative is implemented with the financial support of the Municipality of Varna.
