The study visit of the students from 11 universities in the Kingdom of Bhutan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines to the Dobrich Campus of Varna University of Management has finished. After almost a month of training in various modules, on Friday (01 July 2022) they received their certificates personally from the rector of VUM, Assoc. Dr. Todor Radev.
In addition to academic activities, during their stay the students had the opportunity to enjoy a number of cultural sights, the lively Bulgarian Black Sea coast and summer life. Before leaving for their hometowns, they shared that along with new knowledge, they also gained friends, learned a lot about Bulgaria and are happy with what they experienced and achieved in the last month.
The study visit took place under a project in which the University is a leading partner. “Furthering International Relations Capacities and Intercultural Engagement to Nurture Campus Diversity and to Support Internationalization at Home” or in short FRIENDS unites the efforts of four universities from Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Turkey to promote the internationalization process of higher education institutions from partners under the Erasmus program +’ countries.
The main goal of the project is to develop the global competence of students in higher education institutions from the partnering Asian countries, by means of integrating knowledge and “feeling” for the specificity of intercultural dimensions in the formal curriculum and the informal educational environment of the universities.
