Students from 4 continents will meet with the mayor of Veliko Tarnovo

They will write a project for the development of the Tarnovo region as a tourist destination

On March 19, at 15:00 in the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, a group of students from Varna University of Management (VUM) together with their colleagues from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK and City Unity College, Greece, will meet with the mayor of Veliko Tarnovo – Mr. Daniel Panov. The meeting is part of a school trip of nearly 40 students from Bulgaria, USA, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Great Britain, China, Greece, Russia and Jordan – Masters in Tourism. They will explore the possibilities for even stronger development of Veliko Tarnovo as a tourist destination.Students have the task to get acquainted with the region’s potential and tourism resources, and after then to prepare a presentation and tourism development project together with recommendations and suggestions for its implementation. The students from VUM are studying Master’s degree “International Tourism” for Bulgarian and British diploma, which is ranked among the top 20 in the world according to the ratings of Best-Masters.com.

The trip is organized by VUM and Prof. Stanislav Ivanov, vice-rector of VUM. Prof. Ivanov is the most quoted Bulgarian scientist in the field of tourism in the global scientific database – Scopus, as well as in Google Scholar. Varna University of Management known as one of the most international universities, where students from over 50 nationalities are studying. VUM is ranked first according to one of the rankings launched 4 years ago with funding from the European Commission (U-Multirank) in the criteria internationalization (“student mobility”) from nearly 1,500 universities in the world.
