Congratulations to prof. Stanislav Ivanov, Vice Rector (Research) at Varna University of Management, who received the prestigious Varna Award in Social Studies. This award is a recognition of prof. Ivanov’s outstanding scientific productivity, which puts him first in the country among the teachers in the field of tourism, by number of publications in reputable international scientific journals – the world database Scopus and Google Scholar.
Prof. Ivanov is the Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Tourism Research (EJTR), published by Varna University of Management and the only Bulgarian scientific journal in the field of tourism and indexed in Scopus. Since 2016 the journal is included also in Web of Science.
Prof. Stanislav Ivanov is a member of the editorial boards of 30 journals in the fields of tourism, marketing and economics, a member of the Scientists’ Union in Bulgaria, Bulgarian Marketing Association and the International Association of Experts on Tourism (AIEST). He has been a guest-lecturer in prestigious universities in the UK, USA, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, France, Switzerland and others.
Prof. Stanislav Ivanov is author of two books – now well known on the Bulgarian and international markets – Hotel Marketing (2011) and Hotel Revenue Management: From theory to practice (2014). Furthermore he is co-editor of two books published by the leading British publisher Routledge: Future Tourism: Political, social and economic challenges (2012) and Routledge Handbook of Hotel Chain Management (2016).
Among the new projects that prof. Ivanov is preparing are: Robots, Artificial Intelligence and Service Automation in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality and Future Tourism in Robot-based Economy. Both of these are going to be internationally published by 2019.
