Student education at Varna University of Management (VUM) goes beyond the scope of standard lectures and assignments. It provides students with opportunities for practical tasks and meetings with leading specialists in their respective fields of development. To facilitate the acquisition of real-world, practical knowledge and skills, VUM regularly organises meetings and lectures with guest speakers from leading companies in Varna, across the country, and abroad.
Following this practice, on March 20, Varna University of Management organised a meeting between students from the “Software Systems and Technologies” programme at VUM and Dr. Eng. Zahari Barbov – ICT Knowledge Management Manager at KBC Global Services.
During a lecture on “The Agile Product Development Lens on QA,” he shared valuable practical experience and modern perspectives on the role of quality in an agile environment.
Dr. Eng. Zahari Barbov holds a PhD in IT Management and a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Networks Engineering. He has over 17 years of experience in the IT sector, having started his professional career in engineering roles within the field of mobile communications. Over the past 14 years, he has held key organisational roles in IT project management and business analysis in both Bulgarian and international companies.
VUM students had the opportunity to learn more from Dr. Eng. Zahari Barbov regarding his other leading interests, such as knowledge management in IT organisations. He also demonstrated the importance of building effective links between businesses and academic institutions – focusing on increasing the quality and practical application of IT education, and provided valuable guidance on why it is necessary to be agile in the fast-evolving world of software technology.
