Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, Varna University of Management offers distance learning in Hotel Management, leading to a Bachelor’s degree. Designed for applicants seeking greater flexibility, the programme allows students to pursue higher education while balancing work, career development, and other commitments.
The distance-learning programme is organised on the basis of the curriculum documentation for the corresponding full-time programme and is equivalent to it in terms of the content of study, the required number of credits, the degree awarded, and the professional qualification obtained. The learning process is delivered predominantly through electronic learning and e-administration tools, with remote access to learning activities, resources, assessment, and administrative services.
All semester and state examinations in a non-contact format are conducted remotely through an electronic assessment and examination system. Where required by the nature of the programme, on-site sessions may also be scheduled, but they may not exceed 15% of the total number of hours in the curriculum of the corresponding full-time programme.
Students enrolled in the distance-learning mode graduate with a VUM degree. A Cardiff Metropolitan University degree is not awarded in this mode of study.
The challenges of the modern world and the dynamic development of tourism and hospitality demand specialists who have both theoretical and practical skills as well as motivation to improve their professional qualities. The main goal of the programme is to develop highly qualified specialists with strategic and creative business thinking, in-depth knowledge, advanced practical skills, personal qualities and professional habits.
Students acquire important theoretical knowledge in economic, management and behavioral sciences, finance, accounting, human resources, marketing and entrepreneurship, information technologies, business communications and others.
