At an official ceremony held on December 9, 2021, the graduates of Varna University of Management (VUM), Class 2021, received their diplomas. In addition to the Bulgarian educational and qualification degrees, the successful graduates were awarded British bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the over 150-year old Cardiff Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. The graduates received their diplomas personally from the Vice-Rector of Varna University of Management Prof. Dr. Stanislav Ivanov, who greeted them with the words: “Today, you receive a diploma from one of the best business universities in Eastern Europe, internationally recognized and with the leading positions in some of the most elite rankings. I am convinced that the time spent at Varna University of Management will give you an advantage in your future growth, but will also leave good memories of friendships, fun and experiences.”

„We all faced in the last two or so years a great deal of trouble, turbulence, frustration, but you have through this time managed to complete your degree and are now part of the Alumni community of Cardiff Metropolitan University. I congratulate you all for your fortitude, your hard work, your effort and I am sure you would like to join me in congratulating the faculty there in Varna in helping you to get through this process.” with these words Mr. Mike Flynn, Link Tutor for VUM at Cardiff Metropolitan University addressed the graduating students.

One of the most active members of the alumni community of VUM and a successful entrepreneur for almost 15 years, Mr. Hristo Yanev, also welcomed the graduating students. Especially for the occasion he presented the success stories of three alumni of VUM, currently living and working in three different European capitals – Sofia, London and Moscow.

With a motivating address to the graduates, as well as gifts for the excellent students, the ceremony was attended by Mrs. Nina Gadjeva – Head of SS&O Learning & Development team and Mr. Zahari Barbov – ICT Knowledge Manager at KBC Shared Services and Digital Development Center.

Thanks to the long-term efforts and activity of the academic community, Varna University of Management has become a recognizable educational institution with students from nearly 60 nationalities. Among the 2021 graduates are representatives from Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Vietnam, Guatemala, Germany, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Israel, India, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Russia, Serbia, Uganda and Ukraine.

Alumni 2021 is the 23rd graduating class of VUM and the 11th consecutive alumni of VUM graduates who receive diplomas from Cardiff Metropolitan University.
