The European Journal of Tourism Research (EJTR), issued by Varna University of Management (VUM), is the only Bulgarian scientific journal in the field of tourism, indexed in the world’s largest database of scientific publications Scopus. Scopus is an extremely authoritative system in which, after a lengthy and strict review process, only the best quality magazines are accepted. The number of publications in Scopus indexed journals is used as the main criteria for measuring the scientific activity in the rating system of the universities in Bulgaria. Since 2016, the magazine has been included in the other major Web publishing database – Web of Science.
The editorial board of the magazine includes more than 50 scientists from one of the most prestigious universities from 26 countries on 5 continents. According to the world scientific standards, all manuscripts submitted pass an anonymous review process, ensuring maximum objectivity and high quality of published materials. About the prestige of the magazine is the fact that only about 15% of the submitted articles are accepted for publication.
Editor-in-chief of the magazine is Prof. Stanislav Ivanov – rector of the scientific research activity of Varna University of Management. He ranks first in the number of publications indexed in the Scopus world database among Bulgarian tourism lecturers, as well as in the number of publications and quotes in the Google Scholar database. Prof. Ivanov is a member of the editorial boards of over 30 international scientific journals. He has been a guest lecturer at prestigious universities in Great Britain, USA, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, France, Switzerland and others.
European Journal of Tourism Research celebrates 10 years anniversary with its Volume 18. Congratulations to its editorial board and its editor-in-chief Prof. Stanislav Ivanov!
