Тhe Erasmus+ Оffice of Varna University of Management organized an amazing culinary event for the international students completing their study period at the end of the winter semester, namely the Spice up the Day Culinary Competition.
Students from Turkey, Spain, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, Kazakhstan and China participated in the competition, and each team was tasked with preparing and presenting to the other students a traditional meal for their country. The preparation of the culinary temptations took place in the training kitchen at VUM Dobrich Campus the presentation and tasting – in the training restaurant. The VUM Erasmus+ team also took part in the culinary feast presenting a traditional Bulgarian “banitsa”.
A special jury headed by VUM President Assoc. Prof. Todor Radev evaluated the participants and, together with the attending students, unanimously selected the winner – the South Korea team, which presented traditional spicy pork bulgogi. Runners-up were the teams of China and Turkey.
In addition to the awards for the winners, all participating students received traditional souvenirs to commemorate their stay in Bulgaria.
