The CopyrightX course is under the auspices of the oldest university in the US, Harvard University, whose alumni are names like Barack Obama, Bill Gates, John Kennedy, Al Gore, Mark Zuckerberg and many others. For the first time, the Varna audience will have the unique opportunity to experience training at the high level of the Ivy League Universities. The main organizer of the course is the International Legal Advice Center - ILAC - the official Harvard affiliate for the CopyrightX course in Bulgaria, in cooperation with Varna University of Management. The training is entirely in English following a unique methodology developed by William Fisher III - Professor of Intellectual Property Law at Harvard University.
In-depth study of the American copyright protection law system;
Comparative analysis of the US and European copyright systems;
Exploring the impact of copyright on the arts, the entertainment industry and the public (production rights, distribution, etc.);
Debate on the necessary changes in the EU's copyright legislation;
Reviewing a number of high-profile court cases featuring 20th Century Fox, Jay Zi, Beyonce, Google, and others, which brought to world debates;
Crash course on the fundamentals of American law.
Among the lecturers we have Professor Bruce Whitfield, an associate Harvard lecturer for CopyrightX, and a longtime lawyer in the US, as well as Bulgarian copyright specialists who will expand the scope of the course, also addressing the problems of the Bulgarian legal framework.
At the end of the course, participants will sit for an exam, the successful completion of which will lead to obtaining a certificate from Harvard University.
