A few days ago, Varna University of Management (VUM) launched its 2025 admissions campaign, marking the beginning of a series of events and activities not only in Varna but throughout Bulgaria.
One of the first specialized events will take place this week. On February 20th and 21st at 1:30 PM, VUM will host the “Career Days in Tourism” – an event that will bring together leading Bulgarian and international employers and young people from the region who are interested in the dynamic world of hospitality, restaurant management, and tourism management.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet representatives of prestigious companies, learn about current internships and job openings, and build valuable professional connections. The program includes presentations, discussions, and one-on-one meetings with potential employers. The event is completely free and open to students, professionals in the industry, and anyone looking to start (or restart) their career in the dynamic world of tourism and hospitality.
Among the international employers participating are Nordseehotel Freese (a family-run 4-star hotel located on the picturesque island of Juist, Germany, renowned for its excellent hospitality, high-quality service, and exquisite restaurant Hubertusklause), The Dunraven Adare (one of the most prestigious hotels in Ireland, with a rich history dating back to the 18th century), and Wavemaker Hospitality (a leading company with a diverse portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts in Cyprus and Greece, managing brands such as Atlantica Hotels & Resorts, Mare Resorts, Aphrodite Hills Resort, Cyprus, and more). Bulgarian companies will also take an active part, including VUM’s partners – Grifid Hotels.
Candidates are encouraged to prepare a CV and a cover letter in both Bulgarian and English in advance. Those who are not yet fully confident in their knowledge and skills for professional realization, whether in tourism, management, or computer sciences, can attend an information session dedicated to educational opportunities at VUM.
On February 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM, VUM will hold an “Open Day” at its Training Restaurant (located at 13A Oborishte St., 2nd floor). The event is designed for anyone interested in higher education with an international focus and provides an opportunity to learn more about VUM’s programs and study conditions.
During the event, visitors will receive detailed information about bachelor’s and master’s programs, admission opportunities and scholarships, as well as the advantages of studying for a dual degree—Bulgarian and British, awarded by Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK). Guests will also learn about international internship programs across Europe, student mobility programs that allow studying at foreign universities, and meet professors from various fields—business and management, information technology, hospitality and tourism, and culinary arts. Current students will also take part in the event, sharing their experiences and insights into their studies and career development.
The Director of the Culinary Arts Institute and Head Chef Instructor, Chef Hugues Boutin, has prepared a surprise for all guests, who will have the chance to get their hands dirty and cook alongside him in the university’s professional kitchen.
The event is open for participation, but prior registration is required at the following link: https://bit.ly/4jXffHo.
And all of this will happen in just the first week of the admissions campaign! In the coming months, VUM plans to organize off-site Open Days in Dobrich and Sofia, as well as various events and participation in educational fairs in Plovdiv, Pleven, Burgas, Ruse, Yambol, Sliven, and many other cities across Bulgaria.
