On February 28th a second Focus Group Discussion will be held in Varna University of Management,  room 408 in the framework of project “CULINART: Designing a Joint VET Qualification in Culinary Arts and Pilot Pathways for Continuing Training”.

The aim of the discussion is to survey the business’ assessment of the existing VET qualifications in the field of culinary arts and the employers’ requirements towards the professionals in the sector.

As a result suggestions for specific knowledge, skills and competences that а “chef” should possess to meet the employers’ requirements and to be updated with the trends and innovations in the gastronomy industry will be outlined.

All interested representatives of the professional and branch organizations of the employees in the gastronomy and restaurateur sector, VET providers, authorities and regulatory bodies, policy and decision makers involved in the development, accreditation and control of the VET qualifications, well-established professionals in the culinary arts and others stakeholders are invited to participate in the discussions.

Project CULINART is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union in the frame of Key Action 3 „Support for policy reform“. The project coordinator is International College Ltd (Bulgaria) and the consortium includes also Varna University of Management and VET providers, sectoral and branch organizations, educational and regulatory institutions from Spain, Italy, Portugal, France and Turkey.

CULINART aims to enhance the quality and relevance of vocational education and training (VET) in culinary arts following the labour market needs and with view of increasing youth employability, trans-national mobility and career progression.

The second Focus Group Discussion will be held on 28th of February – 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, in Varna University of Management, room 408. The event is with free access and will be live-streamed on the project Facebook page: CulinArt Project.
